Flin Flon and Thanksgiving

We headed to Flin Flon on Saturday, it's about an hour and a bit north of The Pas. Jo had been there a few weeks ago when I was away, but this was my first visit and I enjoyed it quite a bit. I said it looked like New England, though I've never been, but I have an image in my head. A friend in town here said it looks like Newfoundland. Rocky, waterpaths and bridges. They have very little underground plumbing pipes because everything is built on rock, so you'll see pipes coming out of homes, hidden under ancient looking wood coverings. They're everywhere.

                                                  Like this:

                                                         And this (broken pipe):

We sat and had some coffee in town, drove around taking pictures and had a visit to Walmart for some larger items (couch pillows, food processor!).

More photos below of Flin Flon and a stop at a dock on the way up:

Duck fight!

Last night Jo made a great Pumpkin Pie from scratch, great rustic crust and all. It was delicious. Happy Thanksgiving!
Jo says she's not as proud of the pie as it looks in this photo. But Tony says it was quite delicious to eat. Jo: If not to look at.
